WiiKey is a mod ship developer claims to have reversed the engineering of Wii U's disk encryption and making the game console possible to play "backed up" copies of games using a USB drive. Another group claims to have ripped the Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth game disc and now being distributed online.

Wii U Disk Encryption Hacked

If most people are busy rooting Android devices or jailbreaking iOS gadgets, WiiKey was busy decrypting the Wii U console. According to Engadget, it is similar to "WiikeU" optical drive emulator that is region-free and compatible with all types of Wii U console models.

The group may have to "polish" their claims about the decryption but Nintendo is aware of what's going on.

"Nintendo is aware that a hacking group claims to have compromised Wii U security; however, we have no reports of illegal Wii U games nor unauthorized applications playable on the system while in Wii U mode. Nintendo continuously monitors all threats to its products' security and will use technology and will take necessary legal steps to prevent the facilitation of piracy," Nintendo's statement quoted by Engadget.

Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth Now Being Distributed Online

According to the group called Venom, Marvel Avengers: Battle for Earth is no longer protected against decryption and now being distributed online. An NFO file accompanied the 23GB ISO image of the European version of the game represents the "first full WiiU disc image."

Venom claims to have completely reversed the Wii U drive authentication, disk encryption, file system and everything else needed for this next generation according to CVG.

So far, the claims have not yet 100 per cent proven and still require polished proof that both the game console and the game disc have been completely decrypted. Nintendo continuous to monitor activities of their entire console in case there is an illegal authentication that pops up.
