Known for his role as Christopher McCandless in the movie "Into the Wild," Emile Hirsch welcomes his newborn son Valor, on October 27. The proud new dad posted a photo of his son on November 2, who was born at a Florida hospital in Cape Canaveral; Valor was six pounds and two ounces.

Hirsch met with the mother of his child during an Oscar after party this year and had a short fling; the couple remained friends after the fling ended and wants to raise their son together. "He will definitely be in her life and wants to be a part of the baby's life," a source told the New York Daily News Confidential. "He's told all his friends about it and its fine. He plans to be in the kid's life."

The new parents were seen together in Melbourne, Florida, on Saturday and Hirsch was happily bonding with her son as they stroll around together. Looking so casual in checked shorts and a white T-shirt, Hirsch proudly holds his son as he walks the streets of Florida.

The 28-year-old actor has a lot to celebrate these days when he just recently nabbed a lead role in the highly-anticipated untitled John Belushi biopic. He will be the portraying the "Saturday Night Live" actor in a biopic directed by Steve Conrad, the man behind Ben Stille's film "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" screenplay.

After his breakthrough role in Sean Penn's "Into the Wild," Hirsch was casted in the 2008 action film "Speed Racer" and earlier this year he co-starred with Paul Rudd in David Gordon Green's "Prince Avalanche." He also co-stars in the upcoming Navy Seal war film "Lone Survivor," and will play Clyde Barrow in the television miniseries "Bonnie and Clyde" which will be aired on December 8 and 9 simultaneously on A&E, History and the Lifetime channel.
