Typhoon Haiyan is long gone but her footprints can be seen from all over the country, her distractions and displacements left many families homeless and left more than 100 dead. Now the question is, will Philippines bet Ariella Arida bring home the crown to give hope for her country after the Haiyan/Yolanda tragedy?

Known as the strongest tropical cyclone to make landfall in recorded history, Haiyan hit Philippines with winds of 195mph that could gusts of up to 235mph and sent waves as high as 5m (15ft) ashore on the Islands of Leyte and Samar in central Philippines. Haiyan/Yolanda is the Philippines' 25th typhoon and just like what experts had predicted, Haiyan left with "catastrophic damage."

Now that the entire nation is healing from this tragedy, a Miss Universe victory could uplift the spirits of the Filipino people and bring them hope to get on their feet and build their homes again. Throughout the pre-pageant events and preliminary rounds, Miss Philippines Ariella Arida has been a top contender for the diamond Nexus crown and tonight's final competition will put an end to all the Miss Universe 2013 predictions.

Arida has been a hot favorite for Miss Universe sponsors, she was selected as one of lucky girls to show off their catwalk skills in Yamamay Fashion Show and Tony Couture Fashion Show, picked as the only Asian in Mercedes-Benz TV Commercial, one of the lucky girls to star on Emin's new single "In Another Lifetime" music video and was invited to attend a private event of Miss Universe judge Chef Nobu.

Arilla Arida is predicted to be one of the top 5 candidates to go through the personal interview round, just like the last 3 Miss Philippines before her. And if that prediction will come true, then the victory is all up to her, the crown is within her grasp that answering the final question could break or make her.

Now that the final night is here, Arida's heart goes out to all her countrymen affected by typhoon Haiyan. In an interview with ABS-CBN, Arida urges all Filipinos to keep on praying and be strong for God is bigger than the problem the country is facing now.
