Pop diva Mariah Carey has admitted she would love to be a judge on American Idol.

Mariah Carey would love to be a judge on American Idol, according to her husband.

The pop diva's husband Nick Cannon said the songstress regularly talks about working on the show. "You know what? She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that'," he said.

However, Cannon said he is unsure if the singer would be able to be a judge because of her other commitments.

"She is one of the greatest singers of our time. She would be great. I don't know if she has enough time though but, if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol."

Carey is the best-selling female pop artist of the millennium at the 2000 World Music Awards. She has recorded the most number-one singles-seventeen-for a female solo artist in the United States. According to the Recording Industry Association of America, she is the third best-selling female recording artist. Aside from her commercial accomplishments, Carey has earned five Grammy Awards.
