Willow and Jaden Smith were awarded as winners of The Fashion Awards’ New Fashion Icons prize on Monday at London’s Royal Albert Hall. The event was hosted by the British Fashion Council and sponsored by Swarovski to celebrate its 27th year.

Jaden was there to collect the award at Britain’s Fashion Oscars. He wore a Gucci with a blue and brown striped suit and slip-on fur-lined loafers. Just this year, Jaden also received the male EMA Futures Award from the Environmental Media Association in October.

Willow was not able to attend the event. She has been a head turner ever since and attracted plenty of attention for her fashion choices.

“Flexibility with yourself and your looks shows self-confidence. When we were younger… we would wear the craziest things,” Willow told Wonderland magazine in 2014.

This not so little girl became a Chanel brand ambassador at the age of 15. During the Chanel autumn 2016 couture show, Willow expressed that it’s not every day that a 15-year-old black girl with dreads gets elected to be the Chanel ambassador. She also just designed her own hand-designed a t-shirt, which is part of her MSFTS fashion line.

The two siblings received great praise from Nicolas Ghesquière, the Louis Vuitton director. "Jaden represents a generation that has assimilated the codes of true freedom, one that is free of manifestos and questions about gender," Ghesquière was quoted by E! as saying. "Wearing a skirt comes as naturally to him as it would to a woman who, long ago, granted herself permission to wear a man's trench or a tuxedo."

Though this is not the first time that the Smith siblings have been recognised for their unique style but this is the first award for the duo.

Supermodels and sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid, who were both up for the International Model of the Year Award, were also in attendance at the awards.

The event serves as a fundraiser for the British Fashion Council's Education Foundation. It provides scholarship money to many young talents looking to pursue a career in the fashion industry. Ralph Lauren was also there and presented with the Outstanding Achievement Award for his work in the global fashion industry.
