Mac users can now officially run Windows 10. Apple is now rolling out an updated version of Boot Camp dual-boot utility which will help users to run Windows 10 on Mac.

Apple made the announcement through a Support Pages document published on Wednesday. It states that the latest version of Boot Camp now supports 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s Windows 10 when used with a supported Mac. It is worth mentioning that the Boot Camp is currently rolling out to OS X Yosemite users as a system update.

Boot Camp is intended for Mac users who wish to run Windows 10 but do not want to purchase a dedicated Windows PC. Through Boot Camp, users can run both the Mac OS X and Windows 10 in two separate partitions on the same Mac. The user needs to simply select the operating system each time the computer boots up.

The post lists the Mac and iMac models that support dual booting with Windows 10 via Boot Camp version 6. The document details the process of installing Windows 10 on a Mac. It also covers all the necessary details of the upgrades from previous 32-bit or 64-bit Windows versions . Windows 10 is available from Microsoft as an ISO file, an installation DVD and a USB flash drive.

The Boot Camp capability is already built into Mac OS X in the form of the Boot Camp Assistant. To run the Boot Camp, users need the Mac OS X Yosemite or a higher version. This means Apple’s latest Mac OS, El Capitan which is currently in public beta mode can also run Boot Camp. El Capitan is expected to be released in September, reports CNET.

Boot Camp 6 also includes support for few features of the Mac in Windows 10. They include – USB 3, USB – C on the MacBook, Thunderbolt, built-in SD or SDXC card slot, built-in or USB Apple SuperDrive and the Apple keyboard, trackpad and mouse.
