'Winds of Winter': George R.R. Martin Considers Completing The Book Before His Favourite Conventions
George R.R. Martin has finally commented on the possible release date of his next book “Winds of Winter.” The celebrity author has revealed that he had to reluctantly cancel going to some of his favourite conventions in order to make time and get back to completing his book.
The celebrity author has made it clear that any announcement about the release date of “Winds of Winter” will be made on his blog. George R.R. Martin has now written on his LiveJournal that he is seriously getting back to writing.
He pointed out that he had gone to the World Fantasy Convention the last time when it was held in Saratoga. But, this time he had to cancel his plans to go. The author apologised to the fans who planned to go to the event, hoping to see him. He urged the fans to go to the event, even though he will not be going.
George R.R. Martin also announced that he has decided not to attend this year’s San Diego Comicon. The author pointed out that the event was never listed as one of the items in his “Appearances page” and this apparently made it relatively easy for him to decide take it off his list of events in 2015.
Although the author expressed his current mood as “sad” on the blog, there may be some good news for his fans. George R.R. Martin said in a statement that he may change his mind about going to these events, if he is able to finish “Winds of Winter” and deliver it to his publisher.
This suggests that the author has already put in a lot of efforts on the book and will be able to complete the book soon. The World Fantasy Convention is scheduled to take place between Nov 5 and 8 in Saratoga Springs and the San Diego Comicon 2015 is scheduled to take place between July 9 and 12.
Assuming the author is able to complete the book before one of these events, “Winds of Winter” may be released by the end of 2015 or early 2016. The book has to go through the review process by the publisher that sometimes requires the author to re-write or clarify certain portions of the book.
