'The Witcher': First look at Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia
A first look video of Henry Cavill from the film “The Witcher” has been released online. The “Superman” actor plays the role of a monster hunting superhero known as Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming TV series.
“The Witcher” is actually a bestselling fantasy series that was adapted into a popular video game. Netflix is now making a TV series based on the protagonist Geralt. A first look video has been released online, showing Cavill in the new role.
In the video [see below], Cavill can be seen sporting long, white hair. The actor gets a full black costume, which seems similar to the character in the video games. However, the twin swords that the character keeps with him are missing in the video.
There is a hint of yellow in Cavill’s eyes that may not be visible straight away. This too is from the official look of the character, which the producers of the show have kept low key. The posters of the video game show the blazing golden hue of Geralt’s eyes.
The video appears to be an actually clip from the show. Cavill can be seen taking a sip from his bottle in this scene, while meeting someone off-screen in a dark room.
The clapper at the start of the video reveals this to be a “potion” scene. Readers should note that this was only a costume and makeup test, so the scene may not be featured on the show. The video was filmed a week back, which means the production is ongoing in full swing for the TV series.
According to the synopsis of the TV series, it is a story of a solitary monster hunter who is struggling to find a place in the world. This is a world where the people can be more wicked than the beasts.
