'Wizards of Waverly Place' Cast Reunion: Selena Gomez Gets Back to Disney [PHOTOS]
"Wizards of Waverly Place", it is confirmed, The Russos are coming back! The American Disney Chanel Original Series, "Wizards of Waverly Place" is going to have a second movie. Disney Chanel confirmed that the singer/actress, Selena Gomez will star and executively produce the reunion for the Disney Channel original movie.
This will be the first time that the "Wizards of Waverly Place" cast is set to reunite after the series finale last January 2012. Unfortunately for the "Wizards of Waverly Place" fans, David Henrie who played Justin, Selena's on-screen brother will not be in the movie. Selena Gomez, who portrays Alex Russo, the middle child and only daughter is one of the only two cast members to appear in every single episode of the series to date. As for who is going to be "Justin" in the movie, it is still a mystery!
Official description of the movie is as follows:
"The storyline takes the Russo family and friends to Tuscany, Italy, to meet their long lost relatives, but when Alex (Gomez) tries to prove she's more than a seemingly carefree young Wizard, she inadvertently conjures a spell that creates a Good Alex and an Evil Alex. When Evil Alex gets roped into a charming young wizard's foreboding plan to take over the world, Good Alex must find a way to save her family and humankind, which leads to a monumental battle between the two versions of herself - all atop the Tower of Pisa."
Now, the Disney flick is definitely a jump back to the norm for the 20-year old Latina. If fans may recall, Selena Gomez made quite the bold move with her first-ever mature film, "Spring Breakers." A film directed by Harmony Korine, "Spring Breakers" also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine.
Going back to the squeaky clean image might be a brave move for Gomez. Considering Gomez is set to play a teenage witch, fans would of course still recall the iconic neon blue bikini of "Spring Breakers."
For now, fans of Gomez will have a lot of films to look forward to all of which caters to their exquisite tastes.
