In over a hundred films to his name, Leonardo DiCaprio is said to have Martin Scorsese’s “The Wolf of Wall Street” as one of his best. While “Titanic” has made him one of the most bankable star in Hollywood, giving him an astounding popularity like no other, and “The Great Gatsby” is deemed as Leo’s “ultimate role,” critics claim the his character as Jordan Belfort in Sorsese’s comedy film is one of his best.

1. Leonardo DiCaprio Won Bidding War Against Brad Pitt
Leo has his eyes set on Jordan Belfort’s story since day one. “The Departed” actor has outbid fellow legendary Hollywood hunk, Brad Pitt in a fight against the right over Belfort’s memoir, “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

2. No limits or censor to anything
It’s one of the films in recent years with “plenty of excess.” According to E! Online, it has a lot of sex scenes, drugs and even recorded the most number of use of the F-word among non-documentary film in history.

The film’s financier, Red Granite Pictures reportedly “gave an ultimatum” that the film will have “no limits or censor of anything.”

3. Leonardo DiCaprio seen in free-style moves.
E! Online noted that Leo has nabbed his ultimate role in Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” as the actor portrayed the character of what the news Web site described as “ charming, quick-witted and soulful.” But nothing could have been more fun on Leo’s part to play a character where he could act in “pop-locking freestyle moves” he did in “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Rotten Tomatoes described “The Wolf of Wall Street,” as “funny, self-referential, and irreverent to a fault, The Wolf of Wall Street finds Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio at their most infectiously dynamic.” It has also been making noises in award-giving bodies, having been chosen as one of the top ten films of 2013 by the American Film Institute. Panarmenian.com projected that Leo’s “The Wolf of Wall Street may even outrank “The Hobbit,” at the box office with an expected earnings of $35 million until Sunday.

“The Wolf of Wall Street” was released on December 25, 2013. Though it was earlier scheduled to hit theaters in mid-November 2013, editing and cutting down the run time have caused Scorsese’s film be pushed back a month later. It stars Jonah Hill, Matthew McConaughey, Margot Robbie, among others.

The film is Scorsese and Leo’s fifth collaboration. They had worked together in four other films including, “The Gangs of New York,” (2002); “The Aviator,” (2004), “The Departed,” (2006); “Shutter Island,” (2010) and now, “The Wolf of Wall Street,” (2013).
