Marvel Entertaintment will release X-Men #5, from the chart-topping team of Victor Gischler and Paco Medina next month. X-Men #5 features Wolverine, here a newly turned vampire, leading a horde vampire of set to attack Utopia. Take a look at the PHOTOS accompanying this article for a sneak peek on X-Men #5!

Back in April this year, Gischler told Comic Books Resource (CBR): "This new monthly is not a supernatural-flavored X-Men title - it's a title that will firmly integrate the X-Men in the Marvel Universe, boasting new team-members from across the Marvel Universe as the X-Men contend with a host of threats -- including some of Marvel's most popular super-villains.

"That said, the first arc will pit mutants against another society of super-powered outcasts: vampires. The X-Men have some history with Dracula. It's about to come back and haunt them when San Francisco is invaded by a horde of vampires led by a... let's just say, a very enigmatic leader with a diabolical plan."

Now, followers of the series now know that he was referring to Wolverine. X-Men #5 is set to fulfill the promised invasion of San Francisco led by vampires under the leadership of the newly-turned Wolverine.

The sold-out X-Men epic of the 21st century enters into its final act as Wolverine mount an all out assault on the team's island stronghold of Utopia. With their two heaviest hitters out of the ranks, can Cyclops and Blade keep the X-Men from falling into the enemy's food chain? And will they be willing to put down one of their own to do so? "Curse of the Mutants" continues only in X-Men #5!
