Woods A Little Down, But Not Out
Tiger Woods says he will not let his final round set-back in Abu Dhabi on Sunday get him down.
If anything, he can't wait to get back in action at this week's AT&T National Pro-am at Pebble Beach so that he can show both himself and the golfing world that his error-strewn finish on Sunday is something of the past as he continuous to rebuild his stalled career.
A clearly disappointed Woods slipped from joint first overnight to joint third, finishing two shots behind surprise winner Robert Rock after finding only one fairway on the back nine and six greens in regulation all day.
Inevitably, the former world number one and final-round front-runner was disappointed at not being able to make it back-to-back victories after ending more than two years without a win last month.
But having gone third, first and third on his last three starts he said: "I'm pleased at the progress I've made.
"I just need to keep building, keep getting more consistent.
"I felt I was just a touch off. A couple of the balls were going further than I thought they normally would, so I've got to kind of reassess that and try to figure that out."
In his next stop at Pebble Beach this week, Woods, expected to move into the World Top 20 on the strength of his third place at Abu Dhabi, will play with Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo as his partner - and after that he'll tee-off in the Accenture World Match Play Championship in Arizona.
