Woods Plagued by Elbow Injury
World number one Tiger Woods has aggravated an elbow injury and won't play in another event until next month's Open Championship.
The 37-year-old has already confirmed on his website that he will miss the AT&T National at the Congressional Golf Club in Maryland because of the problem.
"I have been advised to take a few weeks off, rest and undergo treatment. I'll be ready to go for the British Open," the 14-time major winner said.
Woods added that he sustained the injury during the Players' Championship in May, but worsened the injury during the US Open at Merion last week when he finished 12 shots behind eventual winner Justin Rose.
Woods is a three-time Open winner, with his most recent victory taking place in 2006.
This year's event takes place at Muirfield in Scotland and starts on July 18.
