Woolworths Points the Finger at Parlamat for Milk Contamination
Woolworths is recalling 3 litre Homebrand Full Cream Milk for possible contamination of food-grade dairy cleaning solution. While the product carries the Woolworths name, the supermarket chain is shifting the blame to the supplier, Parmalat Australia, a subsidiary of one of the world's biggest milk companies.
In a statement, Woolworths said the recall applies to stocks, which has a used by date of 12 October and stressed its "connection with the Parmalat recall of Pura Milk 2 litre and Daisy Fresh 3 litre full cream milk with a used by date of 12 October."
Food products containing cleaning solution may cause illness to some if consumed, Woolworths said. The milk products may have a yellowish colouring, and/or a metallic or chemical taste.
Affected products were sold from Woolworths supermarkets in NSW only.
Queanbeyan, Cooma, Jerrabomberra, Young, Cootamundra, Goulburn, Wagga Wagga, Wagga Wagga North, Griffith, Griffith North, Temora, Kooringal, Leeton, Yass, Tumut, Jindabyne, Albury, Lavington, Thurgoona, Corowa, Moama did not have the tainted milk for sale. Stores in the ACT are similarly unaffected.

Woolworth said no other Homebrand milk products are affected by this product recall.
