Woolworths-owned BIG W discount department stores are recalling the Abode multi-functional blender purchased at stores nationwide due to a potential safety hazard.

The product, with model number HY-6068A-1, is being recalled as its rubber seal may become dislodged and caught in the blender blades during use.

“If damaged the rubber seal may possibly mix with food and pose an ingestion hazard,” Big W said.

No injuries have been reported to BIG W in connection to this product and the recall is a preventative measure.

“Customers can call the toll-free customer service number for more information on 1300 244 999. We apologise for any inconvenience,” the department store said.

Customers are asked to return the product to any BIG W store for a refund.
