World Cup Album Released, Shakira Unveils Video for New Anthem
Album contains the official song from Pitbull, 'We Are One (Ole Ola)'
Colombian pop star Shakira reached number one all over the world when she released "Waka Waka, (ThisTime for Africa)" the anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. She also took home one of the players from the winning team, Spain's Gerard Piquet. Now, four years later, Shakira has a lovely little son Milan from the Spanish star and is ready to try her luck again and see if the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil will bring her the same luck.
A little over a month before the kick off in mid-June, Shakira unveiled the video for her new song written for the World Cup entitled "Dare (La La La)." Just like her previous World Cup anthem, the tune is catchy and very danceable. The feel is very festive which is reflective of Brazilian culture. The lyrics are not as specifically tailored to the event however with nothing about the sport mentioned in it. With the massive success of "Waka Waka," it only remains to be seen if this new song will live up to it.
Meanwhile, the World Cup album has been released and aside from Shakira, other big artists contribute including Latin Stars Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez and Carlos Santana.
"One Love, One Rhythm: The Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Album," also includes the official main anthem by Pitbull entitled: "We Are One (Ole Ola)," the song features Jennifer Lopez and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte.
Pitbull, Lopez and Leitte will perform their song at this year's opening ceremony on June 12 at the Arena de Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Santana, Wyclef, Avicii and Alexandre Pires will perform "Dar Um Jeito (We Will Find A Way)," the World Cup anthem, on July 13 at the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
