“Like any national team coach, I have important choices to make. Sporting criteria are important, but they are not everything.” - Didier Deschamps on Samir Nasri Reuters

France boss Didier Deschamps did not directly reveal on whether or not Manchester City midfielder and French international has, in some way, upset him.

"Did Nasri upset me? There are different characters and personalities. I don't take into account rumours or what has happened in the past,"Deschamps told L'Equipe.

"I have called on all players since August 2012 and I have seen them all on the pitch and in and around the group."

The Blues playmaker was omitted from the national side, which will compete in the World Cup in Brazil starting this June, in spite putting up a respectable performance for the Eastlands club during the 2013/14 season.

The former Marseille mentor emphasised that he has no regrets, whatsoever, on the non-inclusion of Nasri, citing a coach's perspective for such act.

"I watched his matches. He has a level of performance for his club and another in the French team," he added.

"Like any national team coach, I have important choices to make. Sporting criteria are important, but they are not everything."

"I must not have any regrets. I have made my decision and we move on."
