World Cup Update: Clint Dempsey Scores Fastest Goal in US History [VIDEO]
The American fans at the Arena das Dunas were celebrating just 32 seconds into the United States of America vs. Ghana match. For a good reason: Clint Dempsey scored a goal very early in the Group F match-up giving Team USA a (very early) 1-to-nil advantage.
Dempsey has now scored in three straight World Cups—2006, 2010 and this year in Brazil.
DeMarcus Beasley and Jermaine Jones started the action on the left flank and the ball eventually found Dempsey who beat defender and the goalkeeper for the left-footed shot from roughly eight yards.
USA leads Ghana at halftime, 1-0 as of this writing.
