World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) will officially launch its WWE Network with 24/7 streaming video channel live in the U.S. on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014. WWE executives Vince and Stephanie McMahon announced the exciting news through a press conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014. "Today is a historic day for WWE as we transform and reimagine how we deliver our premium live content and 24/7 programming directly to our fans around the world," said WWE Chairman & Chief Executive Officer Vince McMahon in the WWE report.

"WWE Network will provide transformative growth for our company and unprecedented value for our fans," added McMahon.

According to WWE, aside from being a 24/7 streaming video channel, the WWE Network will also have video-on-demand such as 12 live WWE pay-per-view events like WrestleMania 30, as well as other content like reality shows, original programming, wrestling matches from the past and documentaries.

It will be available for U.S. viewers for $9.99/month with a six-month purchase starting on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at 11:06 p.m. ET.

It is scheduled to launch in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Nordics by the end of 2014/early 2015.

The WWE Network was made possible due to the successful collaboration of WWE and MLB Advanced Media (MLBAM).

"We are proud to work with WWE to help provide its millions of loyal fans with unencumbered access to distinctive and engaging live content across the devices they use most," said MLBAM President and CEO Bob Bowman in the WWE report.

PC Magazine said that at the WWE launch events, there were Chromecasts and Apple TVs found under the seats, which could mean that the WWE platform would be Apple TV. However, WWE executive Stephanie McMahon was mum about the name of the platform, saying that she was forbidden from naming it now.

The WWE Network with 24/7 streaming video channel can be accessed on mobile devices, iOS devices like the Apple iPhone or iPad, Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy, desktops, laptops, tablets, Amazon's Kindle Fire, XBox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and 4, Roku, Smart TVs and other devices.
