The speculations still continue on which famous male celebrity will portray the most coveted role of Christian Grey in the upcoming Hollywood movie adaptation of the hit erotic novel "Fifty Shades of Grey."

The frontrunner to portray the male lead character seems to be heartthrob actor, Ryan Gosling. However, can hunky Channing Tatum sneak in and steal the part?

All summer long, the fans of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" books, as well as the movie aficionados, have been eagerly waiting for news that would finally confirm who would portray the two lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the upcoming film. Fans were even inspired to come up with their own list of actors who could make the perfect on-screen Christian Grey.

According to reports, Channing Tatum said that he would only be interested in portraying the role as long as his wife, Jenna Dewan, gets to portray Anastasia Steele. Tatum has won the hearts of female fans in his movie "Magic Mike" and his real life work experience as an exotic dancer can become an advantage to make him comfortable in filming the movie adaptation of the erotic novel.

Obviously, Channing Tatum is a good-looking guy but he does not look like a dark, brooding and sophisticated Christian Grey. The actor has always been best known for action films such as "21 Jump Street" and "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra."

Meanwhile, Jenna Dewan may probably be too sexy to portray Anastasia Steele and she does not exude an innocent and soft look that describes the female lead in the novel which other actresses may have for the part.

If the couple is really serious about being cast together in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, they might actually have a chance since the two actresses, Emma Watson and Elizabeth Olsen, who were constantly named favorites for the role of Anastasia Steele have already claimed that they are not vying in for the part.
