A highly anticipated sequel to the last year's blockbuster "Hunger Games", "Catching Fire" is all set to screen at the Rome film festival. The film would be opening in the non-competitive category before it sets it's foot for a gala US premiere on November 14.

According to Variety the reason why director Marco Mueller's decided to take his film to Rome film festival, is the worldwide acceptance. The director and cast, Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth are clearly looking for a global platform which would mean better profits for the film as well the upcoming sequel , Hunger Games: Mokcingjay Part 1 and Part 2.

According to Wall Street analysts, "Catching Fire" will top $900 million in worldwide grosses after it opens Nov. 22 - far above $691 million box office for the first "Hunger Games."

Based on Suzanne Collins' trilogy, the film opens with Katniss Everdeen coming back to her home after winning the coveted price of '74th Annual Hunger Games. Everdeen is smelling revolt, while President Snow is preparing for 75th Annual Hunger Games.

The film festival begins on November 8 and would continue till November 17th. There has been no official word, whether the main lead of the film would be present at the screening of the film. Though "Hunger Games" would open in non competitive segment, for other film director James Gray and Larry Clark would be heading the jury.

Talking about "Hunger Games: Mockingjay", the film as already added Julliane Moore, Patina Miller and Lily Rabe to its cast and the buzz is that the cast of the film is already heading to Atlanta to shoot for the film.
