Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has evolved to an international movie star that appearances at the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) come few and far between. A glimpse of him cannot be denied in Brooklyn as The Rock made a surprise cameo at Monday Night Raw.

Not only did Johnson please the fans with his stature but he reminded them of how he is the best with the microphone, the taunts and the trash talk. His skills in pummelling and bi***-slapping opponents have also not diminished. On the receiving end of The Rock's comeuppance was Russian patriot Ruslev.

From the start of his spiel up until the apex moment of shouting, "I can finally say The Rock has come back to Brooklyn," Johnson was at his wrestling superstar mode with his stare downs and taunts to the Russian challenger and his handler Lana. Latino Post reports that the exchange was colourful and was applauded raucously by fans in the Barclay's Center.

The show started with Ruslev and Lana declaring that Russia was the best country in the world. The Rock, wearing a black shirt with the words, "Just Bring It!" printed front and centre, said his famous lines, "can you smell what The Rock is cooking?" He then proceeded to pummel Ruslav to his heart's content and even throwing him over the stage.

While this was a surprise, given that his last appearance on a WWE ring dates back to Wrestlemania 29 when he lost to John Cena, the Rock was the one who spoiled it just a few hours before the show went live.

Johnson also paid homage to the retiring Derek jeter to show his appreciation for The Captain. Johnson started the "Je-ter" chants and the crowd followed suit, much to the delight of the returning wrestling superstar. Watch how The Rock made Rusleev pay in his return to the WWE:
