WWE News: Randy Orton Upset With Vince McMahon’s Handling of His Character [VIDEO]
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is in peril of losing its best and longtime names in wrestling. Just like CM Punk before him, Randy Orton is on the verge of losing his patience with Vince McMahon and the show runners of WWE.
This story develops after his impressive match-up with long-time nemesis Chris Jericho at Night of Champions. Daily Wrestling News is reporting that Orton is taking issue with how his character is being developed in the WWE universe. While he has been a professional, throughout his stint with the organization, he is looking at taking some time off to refresh his love for the game.
The site reported that "while he's still headlining events, Randy Orton has not been a big factor in WWE in recent weeks and this has him unhappy. As a result, he recently asked management about taking some time away from the ring by the end of the year in order to rejuvenate."
Orton seems to be following the path of the other disgruntled superstar, CM Punk. Punk left the outfit in January after being snubbed for the Wrestlemania 30 event after years of devotion to the outfit, appearing in overseas shows and regular fights during Monday Night RAW and Smackdown. Punk's merchandise has already been pulled from all WWE stores and online shops and there is the looming exclusion of his character from WWE 2K15, the official video game of the outfit.
Orton and CM Punk are not alone in the boat as several other names such as Rey Mysterio, Batista, and Albert del Rio had some problems with WWE in the past. The most notable of the bunch is Chris Benoit who has been completely removed from the history of the organization. The reports of discomfort of the Orton camp is not the first occurrence as early this month, the 2009 Royal Rumble winner complained of increased workload due to the departure of Punk and the injury to Daniel Bryan.
It is unclear how head honcho Vince McMahon will respond to the rumours of Orton wanting to take a break from wrestling until then, we play a wait and see game. In the meantime, watch the latest fight of Orton against Chris Jericho in Night of Champions:
