If one heard about a father forbidding his daughter to date a guy, it will come off as just another story of a father's protective instinct and love for her daughter. This story is just about the same with a few more angles heightening the background story.

The couple in tow is Paul and Stephanie Levesque, just one of your ordinary lovebirds by their given names yet, when they go by Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, our interests gets piqued. What complicates matters is that at one point, Stephanie's father, no less than Vince McMahon opposed in their dating back then.

In an all-out interview provided by Inquistr, a wrestling news site, Stephanie reveals that at one point her father, Vince, prohibited her from dating his current husband Triple H.

"It was not always just all roses. We were given permission and then it was taken away," Stephanie said. "In terms of the reasons why, I don't know if he was getting pressure. It was a really big thing in our business for the top star to be dating the boss' daughter and all of the implications it could have."

The love story of the two has a unique background as it was not simple case of "falling in love with someone you met at a job." Triple H and Stephanie staged an on-screen marriage in the ring. When their "fake" marriage was on the rocks, Stephanie pretended to be pregnant to haul back Triple H. The said staged relationship ended on Monday Night Raw after Triple H dumped her after finding out she was not pregnant all along.

The staged relationship however bloomed to a real one as the two developed chemistry off stage. The snag as that dating co-workers in the World Wrestling Entertainment world was frowned upon, much so an employee dating the boss' daughter. Eventually, Triple H asked for the permission to date Vince McMahon's daughter but it did sit well at first with the man. Down the line, everything ended up roses as the two tied the knot in 2003.
