The 2013 Night of the Champions will be loaded with slambang action from start to finish with all belts except the Intercontinental championship up for grabs on Sunday at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

It has been wild past few weeks of wrestling at WWE Raw and Smackdown as contenders Daniel Bryan and Rob Van Dame gained some psychological edge over their respective rivals ahead of this Pay-per-View event.

Bryan continued his mission to regain the WWE Championship 'stolen' by Money in the Bank winner Randy Orton at Summerslam. Bryan had endured a lot of beating from Orton and WWE COO Triple H, who have exhausted all his influence to make sure things are hellish for the WWE's top baby face.

However, Bryan finally found an opening to take some revenge on the final episode of RAW (Sept. 9, 2013). After beating Dean Ambrose in a match, Bryan was assaulted once again by Orton, Triple H and the Shield. Having all the powers to dismiss any superstar anytime, the Cerebral Assassin used it very well to control all his superstars, except Big Show. The man giant refused to follow Triple H's order to knock out Bryan, allowing tonight's contender to land a morale-boosting high knee on Orton.

Meanwhile, Rob Van Dame has been on a tear since coming back to WWE. The Triple crown winner has racked up big time victories, just enough to draw the attention of WWE heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio. Little did he know that Van Dame would eventually ruin his relationship with long time manager Ricardo Rodriguez. On Sunday, Van Dame and Del Rio will not only square it off for the Heavyweight championship but also for the bragging rights as the best wrestler right now on Smackdown.

Also in the undercard, CM Punk will battle Curtis Axel in a match that could determine the fate of manager Paul Heyman. AJ Lee will also stake his WWE Diva Championship in a fatal four-way match with Natalya, Brie Bella and Naomi.

The Shield members (Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins) against the winner of the Tag Team Turmoil clash in the first match of the evening.
