WWE Update: Sting Posts Cryptic Message Hinting November 2014 Debut
Sting rumours were aplomb during the weekend when the legendary TNA fighter posted on his Facebook page a full-size image of himself with the words, "The Big Event Seven: 11/8/14." It was not the poster itself that generated buzz but the accompanying message below that hints at a World Wrestling Entertainment appearance.
Sting placed the words, "bigger news on the horizon," which led fans to wonder if this is the debut everyone has been looking forward to. It has been almost two years since Sting and WWE have been in contact to plan the jump of the TNA superstar, yet the only tangible development is his inclusion in the WWE 2K15 game. Now there is hope yet for a nearer date.
The initial musings in the wrestling world was that Sting will be facing The Undertaker in Wrestlemania 31in what would be a retirement match for both fighters. The 55-year-old American wrestler is nearing the twilight of his career and the WWE plans to criss-cross him with the same kind of star: Taker. The Undertaker is still rehabilitating from a serious concussion he suffered during his defeat in the hands of Brock Lesnar in Wrestlemania 30. According to wrestling site Give Me Sport, there is also the possibility that he could take part in the annual Royal Rumble event in preparation for the spring extravaganza.
Now, Sting's latest post on the social media site has given hopes in moving the return needle, possibly to a RAW event. Regardless of when it comes, WWE President Vince McMahon could sure use some boost into the anxiety of the fans and could use the post to gauge fan interest.
Stone Cold Steve Austin is reportedly training and looking for a return as is Dave Batista of the Guardians of the Galaxy fame. With the mystery of Stinger, there would be no shortage of fighters who would be willing to take on the forthcoming man of mystery.
