‘X-Factor Australia’ 2015 finale: Cyrus Villanueva is this year’s winner
Cyrus Villanueva was crowned the winner of 2015 “X-Factor Australia” on Tuesday night.
After weeks of battling it out with many contenders, fan favourite Villanueva proved in the final episode that he has the “X Factor” to become the star. Australians chose the 19-year-old Filipino-Australian singer to be this year’s “X-Factor Australia” champion. He received the highest number of votes.
Louise Adams was declared the runner-up, while the singing duo Jess & Matt landed at the third spot.
With “X-Factor Australia” win, the 19-year-old singer is on his way to starting a music career with Sony Music Australia.
Soon after his win, Villanueva took to Twitter to post a thank you message. He wrote: "I never thought I would have made it this far - through the ups and the downs! THANK YOU!"
Villanueva’s fans also took to social media to congratulate the “X-Factor Australia” 2015 champion. And the official Twitter account of “X-Factor Australia” posted a congratulatory message and described the winning moment as “beautiful.”
Twitter users called Villanueva's win “well deserved.” Twitter user Naznaz wrote, “@thexfactor_au sooooo proud of Cyrus he deserved it sooooo much love him to bits @cyrusvill.” Meanwhile, Twitter user Caity congratulated both Villanueva and his “X-Factor Australia” mentor Chris Isaak. She stated, “@thexfactor_au Awwh I'm so happy for Cyrus! Such a genuine guy! So well deserved! Congrats @ChrisIsaak.”
Twitter user Jenna Vescio also wrote a message for Villanueva and the other “X-Factor Australia” mentors. She said, “@thexfactor_au Congratulations to Cyrus and very proud of all the Mentors. You did a fantastic job with all your performers.”
“X-Factor Australia” judge Dannii Minogue complimented Villanueva during the grand final decider episode. She commented, "You just have SOMETHING that moves people.” The comment was also posted on the reality competition’s Twitter page, with an additional post that said, “@DanniiMinogue has the #CirusVirus too.”
