It looks like the “X Factor Australia” title still remains elusive for groups this season after crowd favourite Beatz was sent home by the judges.

Underdogs mentor Mel B found herself in quite a quagmire when her two acts landed in the bottom two after Sunday’s live performance. The sassy female trio had to go head to head with Spotify front-runner Vlado Saric [watch below]. Unfortunately for Beatz, they failed to carry on their “X Factor” journey, ironically after performing “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child.

Judges Adam Lambert, Iggy Azalea and Guy Sebastian unanimously chose to Vlado, who sang Major Lazer’s “Cold Water,” to the grand finals. Adam chose to trust his gut and went for Vlado, while Iggy has always been a fan of the young performer, calling him her favourite. Guy, on the other hand, rambled on for quite a bit before naming his choice. Vlado now joins Amalia Foy, Isaiah Firebrace and Davey Woder in a four-way battle to win “X Factor Australia” 2016.

Amid their tears, Beatz members Brooke, Tayla and Elishia expressed their gratitude for being part of this year’s edition of the hit reality show. They also gushed about meeting their idols, Little Mix, who performed their latest smash hit, “Shout Out To My Ex,” which is part of their new album, “Glory Days.” Beatz thanked their mentor Mel, who fearlessly claimed, “Everyone’s not going to see the last of you.”

Beatz had quite a journey on “X Factor Australia” 2016. Mel brought them back in the singing competition and took them in her wings after Iggy previously dissed them at the three seat challenge. The Australian rapper, who originally picked them from the lot, swapped Beatz with another female trio, AYA.

Beatz made quite an impression after nailing Arianna Grande’s “Problem,” including Iggy’s rap. At the first live show, the girls sang “Sax” by “X Factor UK” alumni Fleur East, which earned a standing ovation from their mentor. However, during the recent live shows, the group found themselves at the bottom two. They managed to outperform Aya and Chynna Taylor, much to the surprise of some fans.

It’s too bad for Beatz, who failed to be part of the much-awaited grand finals week. Prior to Sunday’s live episode, the “X Factor Australia” 2016 finalists are gearing up for their concerts back in their hometowns, accompanied by the judges.
