“The X Factor Australia” has axed its second group act for the season. Judge Natalie Bassingthwaighte’s acts, JTR and THIRD D3GREE, both got the lowest public votes, which meant that one of them has had their dreams crushed on Monday.

The Top 7 contestants opened the show with a group performance, singing “Counting Stars” by One Republic, which set a lively atmosphere for the evening.

Unfortunately, though, host Luke Jacobz had to announce the bottom two acts that would have to sing for their lives later on to stay on the show. To Natalie’s horror, it was both her protégés that were called.

After getting in the dreaded bottom two for the third time, Swedish brothers JTR – 23-year-old John, 20-year-old Tom, and 19-year-old Robin Lundback – failed to make crush their competition this time. It’s a unanimous vote for Ronan Keating, Dannii Minogue, and Redfoo, sending the trio home in favour of saving THIRD D3GREE.

JTR’s “MMMBop” on Sunday:

“That was one of the best harmonies we’ve heard you guys sing,” Ronan praised the brothers before choosing to eliminate them from the competition.

Dannii disagreed with the Boyzone singer, though, saying that while she loved JTR’s rendition of “MMMBop” on Sunday, she felt that their “Lego House” performance minutes before wasn’t their best.

The three judges all did not give a reason for their choice, and since they all sent JTR home, there was no need for Natalie to choose between her two acts. Hence, JTR was sent home.

JTR and THIRD D3GREE sing for their life:
