‘X Factor Australia’ Country Princess Caitlyn Shadbolt on Her Nashville Plans, The Truth Behind Redfoo and Dannii Minogue’s On-Air Spat
“The X Factor Australia” eliminated country princess Caitlyn Shadbolt has opened up about her plans of going to Nashville and what it’s really like between Redfoo and Dannii Minogue after their infamous on-air spat on Sunday.
The 19-year-old Gympie beauty exited the Seven Network reality competition show on Monday after being in the bottom two with resident rocker Dean Ray. With only her mentor Ronan Keating backing her up during the judges’ decision, Caitlyn was ultimately voted off.

She’s okay with it, though. She’s actually proud that she has made it so far in the competition.
“Because I was in the top five, it was nowhere near as upsetting because top five is an amazing achievement,” she told the Daily Telegraph. “Someone has to go every week and this week it was me, but overall I’m pretty happy.”
Next stop for Caitlyn is Nashville, the country music capital in the U.S. She thinks Nashville is more suited for her career plan, and therefore that’s where she needs to go.
“I mean over in America, country music is nearly more popular than pop music,” she explained. “It would be more awesome if Australia was like that, obviously it’s not – pop and rock and everything else comes before it.”
It’s a big dream, but Caitlyn’s youth is an advantage that she’s using.
“I think definitely the young, fresh vibe is going to give me the best shot,” she said, adding that she would get started on writing and co-writing songs with other people to get her moving in the right direction, but not before she gets some sleep first.
“It’ll be refreshing to leave the show and get back to sleeping,” she quipped.
On Sunday, there had been a big fight between judges Redfoo and Dannii over fellow contestant Reigan Derry’s outfit. Dannii thought that Reigan’s strapless dress was contrary to Reigan’s wish earlier in the show that she would not be given a sexualised image. Reigan’s mentor Redfoo disagreed, and he and Dannii got into a screaming match, with Redfoo criticising Dannii’s own outfit that night.

The two hugged it out the next day, though. The “New Thang” hitmaker apologised to the Australian songstress, admitting that he “went too far” with his comment.
Caitlyn said that the clash between the two judges was just “all very political.”
“Each judge is standing up for their artists. Redfoo and Dannii kissed and made up, and it’s all good. As soon as that show was over, they sorted it out,” she told Confidential.
On Sunday, remaining contestants Dean, Reigan, Marlisa Punzalan and Brothers 3 will be singing two songs each again. The theme will be Power and Passion.
