“The X Factor Australia” winner Dami Im’s music video for her single “Alive” looked “cheap,” her fans complained. That’s why her record label, Sony Music Australia, is now scrambling to replace the clip, promising to reshoot a better video.

The video was filmed just days after the South Korean-born successfully nabbed the title of the Channel 7 singing competition on October 28. As the winner of the show, she has had a lot of things to do as well, including completing the vocals for her debut album.

So when her video came out online a week later, fans were disappointed with the outcome, saying it was obvious that it was rushed. Some even thought the video production looked cheap and Dami appeared “awkward,” certainly not on par with her voice calibre.

Her fans, called the Dami Army, demanded that the music video be redone as it is ruining Dami’s chances of breaking through the international music scene.

Fortunately, Sony Music Australia listened.

“To all the Dami Im fans, the video for ‘Alive’ was taken down because we listened to you, the fans. We are shooting a new video shortly and we will keep you posted on the progress,” Sony tweeted on Monday.

Dami’s self-titled album has already reached number one in Australia. It is also making waves in other neighbouring countries, including the Philippines (#11), Singapore (#3), and Malaysia (#2).

Meanwhile, Dami and the rest of the top 5 finalists of “The X Factor Australia” will be kicking off their live tour, Saturday. Taylor Henderson (first runner-up), Jai Waetford (second runner-up), Third D3gree (Jordan, Kelebek, and Jacinta), and Jiordan Tolli will perform a selection of their most loved songs from their time on the show in Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Perth from November 23 to December 2.

Special guests will be announced soon.
