“The X Factor Australia” judge Dannii Minogue couldn’t hold back tears after her act Dami Im delivered a perfect rendition of “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The chart-topping singer dedicated her protégé’s song to her parents and grandfather, who are all grieving the recent passing of her grandmother.

Dami was once again excellent on stage as she sang the Simon & Garfunkel classic. Her clean and spotless performance was met with standing ovation from the audience and judges alike, with the exception of Redfoo, who praised her delivery, but was a bit disappointed by it, too.

“That was great, but I have to say I am used to awesome from you,” the LMFAO singer began, earning boos from the audience. “I’m used to incredible. I thought it was great, but I still thought that you were holding back a little bit.”

Both Ronan Keating and Natalie Bassingthwaighte had a different opinion from Redfoo, though. Ronan even bravely announced that he’s okay with Dami winning the show.

Dannii, Dami’s mentor, was also awestruck by her moving performance, praising Dami for being an “absolute angel” during “the roughest week ever.”

“That was for my parents and my grandfather, that song tonight,” an emotional Dannii said. “For anyone who’s out there who’s ever had a tough time, that is the song!”

Dannii was referring to the death of her grandmother a couple of weeks ago after succumbing to cancer. The news was largely kept from the public, though the 41-year-old actress/singer reflected on her loss at Ronan’s cancer charity fundraiser, The Emerald & Ivy ball, on Friday, according to the Courier Mail.

International star Kylie Minogue, her older sister, had her successful battle against breast cancer in 2005 after she was diagnosed with the disease.

Meanwhile, Dami and the rest of the “X Factor” contestants – Omar Dean, Taylor Henderson, Jai Waetford, Jiordan Tolli, JTR, and THIRD D3Gree – are going to face another elimination night on Monday.
