‘X-Factor Australia': Justin Bieber fails to impress with 'What Do You Mean' performance
Justin Bieber is currently in Australia to promote his new track “What Do You Mean” and was invited to perform on the “X-Factor Australia.” However, the pop star’s performance on Tuesday night’s episode received mix reviews from viewers. Some were not too happy with his voice, while others mentioned how the contestants on the music show sang better than him.
Despite the excitement in the studio as Justin took to the stage, some viewers were not impressed with his lacklustre rendition of his latest hit song. Viewers took to social media to express what they thought of his performance on the “X-Factor Australia.”
Another Twitter user named Bobby clark compared Justin’s performance to one of the show’s contestants and said, “Awkward moment when Jessica Mauboy was 10x better.” User Robin Illingworth also wrote, “First time ever sitting through a Bieber song. I deserve another chocolate digestive. #xfactorau.” Kendall Otten also said that Justin “was a little dull” during his performance of “What Do You Mean” on the “X-Factor Australia.”
Just Jared, likewise, mentioned how Bieber’s performance “wasn’t his best.” The 21-year old reportedly gave an astounding show during the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Aug. 30 when he debuted “What Do You Mean.” However, that was not the case on the “X-Factor Australia.” Justin seemed out of breath as seen in the video below. He also didn’t sing the whole song, going silent every now and then.
After his performance, Justin explains his lack of voice performance and tells host Luke Jacobz that he gets so engrossed with the dancing part he forgets to breathe.
“I always forget to breathe, I'm always so busy doing the moves and I never breathe,” he said in the video below. “I always forget I gotta breathe,” he added.
Bieber also talked about his visit in Australia, saying that he’s had an awesome trip so far. Justin tells Jacobz that he’s been doing a lot of skating and ping pong activities in the country. He also teased his new album, telling his screaming fans in the studio that he can’t wait for them to hear it since it will be “exciting and uplifting.”
Despite the negative reviews, the excitement in the “X-Factor Australia” studio is unmistakable. Justin’s voice is barely heard over the shrieks and screams coming from his fans.
