The third live show of “X-Factor Australia” season 7 left fans enthralled with amazing performances from the remaining ten contenders. Aspiring Filipino-Australian singer Cyrus Villanueva was one of the top 10 finalists who rocked the stage Monday night, Oct. 12.

Monday’s “X-Factor Australia” had the ten contenders singing "Top 10 Hits" to gain Australia fans’ votes, according to Zeibiz. The 19 year old crooner was the last contender to take the stage, where he sang James Bay’s “Hold Back the River.” Villanueva rocked the stage with his amazing performance and even received screams and cheers from fans. Even “X-Factor Australia” judge James Blunt was also impressed with the singer’s "Top 10 Hits" performance. “No wonder they left you last… you ruined the stage,” he said.

Villanueva is fast becoming one of the fans’ favourite contenders on season 7 of “X-Factor Australia.” His cover of mentor Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game,” which he sang during last week’s live show, already reached the top spot on “X-Factor Australia” season 7’s iTunes chart, as well as iTunes Australia’s top 100 songs, according to Pop Vortez.

“X-Factor Australia” also took note of Villanueva’s iTunes accomplishment with a congratulatory message posted on the show’s official Twitter account, which read, “Congrats to @cyrusvill who is currently #1 on iTunes with Wicked Game. Yeah dude!”

Fans also congratulated the rising singing star on Twitter, writing that it was “totally deserved.” Twitter fan Linda M also wrote, “@thexfactor_au @cyrusvill you deserve to win this year. You are by far the best singer in the comp. Is there any genre you can’t sing.”

Meanwhile, “X-Factor Australia” fans were also torn on whose performance was their favourite during Monday’s live show. In a separate post on the show’s official Twitter account, “X-Factor Australia” asked, “Who was your favourite?” after commenting that the live show featured “so many incredible performances.” Fans responded by stating their favourites such as the singing duo Jess & Matt, Big T, Jimmy Davis and Natalie Conway.

However, many Twitter fans also chose Villanueva and wrote supportive messages such as “@cyrusvill all the way!” and “@cyrusvill the best!” Twitter user Cecil&Jericho Lions even described Villanueva’s Monday act as “top performance.”

“X-Factor Australia” season 7’s third live decider show airs Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7:30pm.
