‘The X Factor Australia’ Sends Ellie Lovegrove Home [VIDEOS]
“The X Factor Australia” has said goodbye to Ellie Lovegrove. The top nine contestants were chopped down to eight as the show came to its first deadlock decision this season.
Ellie, 19, was in the bottom two with boy band brothers JTR (John, Tom, and Robin Lundback), who were also in the bottom two last week with Barry Southgate.
Her rendition of Little Mix’s “Wings” on Sunday was criticised by the judges, with Ronan and Nat claiming it wasn’t her best vocal performance. Dannii, meanwhile, critiqued her outfit, saying that her pants wasn’t flattering her.

Apparently, the viewers did not find her performance pleasing as well. She was thrust down to the bottom two with JTR, prompting both acts to sing for their lives.

Red Foo naturally saved his protégé, but Dannii Minogue, JTR’s mentor, and Nat Bass backed the boy band, leaving Ronan Keating to decide on their fate.
“I’m gonna have to go to deadlock because I can’t decide,” Ronan backed Ellie for a tied score with JTR.
Deadlock meant that the show would have to rely on public votes. Whoever got the lowest number of votes would be eliminated. And unfortunately for Ellie, it was her.
That leaves the show with its top 8 – Omar Dean, Taylor Henderson, Jai Waetford, Joelle, Jiordan Tolli, Dami Im, THIRD D3GREE, and JTR.
Earlier in the show, British electronic music quartet Rudimental thrilled the audience with their hits “Right Here” and “Feel the Love.” Irish alternative rock group Kodaline also performed their track “High Hopes.”
