Natalie Imbruglia is the latest star to join the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in the campaign against wearing animal skins. Australia's X Factor judge recently voiced a new anti-fur video for the PETA where she blasted people who wear fur.

Natalie Imbruglia urged fashion-conscious people not to don animal skins, calling it as "a brutal and inhumane trade."

"There is no kind way to rip the skin off animals' backs. Anyone who wears any fur shares the blame for the torture and gruesome deaths of millions of animals each year," Imbruglia said

."Saving animals is as simple as choosing synthetic alternatives instead of real fur."

On other news, Ingrid E. Newkirk of PETA blasted Lady Gaga for wearing a "meat dress" on the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards. Newkirk wrote: "Lady Gaga has been having a hard time keeping her act 'over the top.' Wearing a dress made out of cuts of dead cows is offensive enough to bring comment."

Newkirk warned Lady Gaga's record sale may suffer from her latest stunt. Gaga is set to release a new album Born This Way.

"Someone should whisper in her ear that there are more people who are upset by butchery than who are impressed by it-and that means a lot of young people will not be buying her records if she keeps this stuff up."
