“The X Factor New Zealand” second series is happening, with the pre-auditions starting on October 11 in Auckland.

The TV3 series will be hosted again by Dominic Bowden, and will bring back Melanie Blatt and Stan Walker as judges. Two more judges who replace season one regulars Daniel Bedingfield and Ruby Frost will be announced in the coming weeks.

“I’m really excited about coming back to New Zealand, there’s some incredible musical talent in your country, as we saw in the first series,” British songstress Blatt said.

“It’s fantastic that bands can also enter for the first time, it’ll add a whole new dimension to the competition. I can’t wait to see who steps up at the pre-audition round. This is the opportunity of a lifetime so if you think you have what it takes, our team wants to see you there!”

The pre-audition will be held in 13 locations nationwide, and is open to aspiring singers 14 years old or older. Bands and groups are now accepted. Successful entrants will compete for the “X Factor NZ” title in the 2015 telecast.

The show has been given $800,000 funding by minority sponsor NZ on Air. McDonald’s is also coming back as the broadcast sponsor of te show.
