The sixth live decider show of “X Factor UK” saw the departure of Lauren Murray after receiving the lowest number of votes in the competition.

“X Factor UK” contender Murray was at the bottom two list, along with Che Chesterman, during the live decider show held Sunday, Dec. 6. Chesterman amazed the audience with his emotional performance of the classic “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” while Murray sang “Fight Song.”

The 25 year old aspiring singing was in tears when she took the stage Sunday night, according to Mirror. Murray’s “X Factor UK” mentor Rita Ora even left her judges chair to console the singer shortly after her performance. However, Murray’s tearful performance wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition.

Two judges voted to send Murray home, with Nick Grimshaw opting to save Chesterman and “X Factor UK” judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini voting against Murray. Meanwhile, Ora chose to keep Murray in the competition. Fernandez-Versini even commented over Murray’s emotional state during Sunday’s live show, Evening Standard reported.

“I don’t want to send anyone home and there’s no valid reason for this decision. Lauren, it’s so heart-breaking to see you so emotional at this stage and it’s only going to get tougher,” she said. “So I’m going to save Che.”

However, “X Factor UK” showrunner and judge Simon Cowell admitted he was undecided over which act to save and let go. He ultimately opted for the public to decide when he forced a deadlock by voting for Chesterman. In such cases, the “X Factor UK” contender with the lowest number of votes is automatically sent home. During Sunday’s live decider show, Murray had the least number of votes and was booted off the competition.

The aspiring singer was extremely upset over her elimination and was unable to appear in the competition’s spin off show “The Xtra Factor,” Telegraph reported. It was Murray’s mentor Ora who went on the show on her behalf, since the ousted contender was “so upset.”

"She's literally just so upset,” Ora shared. “I have to just keep reminding her how amazing she is. She's OK, it's just one of those things, it just gets to you sometimes."

The final three acts who made it to the final leg of “X Factor UK” are Chesterman, Reggie ‘N’ Bollie and Louisa Johnson.

The “X Factor UK” finals will air on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12-13, in the UK on ITV.
