‘The X Factor UK’ Judge Mel B’s Husband Stephen Belafonte Denies Assaulting Her
Mel B’s husband Stephen Belafonte has denied “disgusting” claims that he hit his wife. “The X Factor UK” judge missed Saturday’s penultimate episode after being admitted to the hospital, but was able to attend the Sunday’s show allegedly looking bruised and not wearing her wedding ring.
The 39-year-old former Spice Girl was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night over a mystery illness that her rep said was “serious.” She missed out on seeing her lone act Andrea Faustini perform solo for the last time as he was eliminated without his mentor that night. Ex-judge Tulisa Contostavlos took over Mel’s role briefly.

It was initially thought that she was going to miss the final episode of the show as doctors ordered her to rest. She fortunately felt “better-ish” to attend the last episode of the reality competition show on Sunday.
“Yes, [better]-ish,” Mel responded to host Dermot O’Leary if she was feeling better. However, some viewers noted that Mel didn’t look as well as she said.
Apparently, she looked swollen and bruised. Apparently, the songstress had some scratches on her arms, a bruise on her cheek, and had a “swollen” face. Eagle-eyed fans also observed Mel’s bare fingers. Her wedding ring was missing.
Concerned fans quickly put the blame of Mel’s less than healthy appearance on her husband, accusing Belafonte of hitting Mel. Speculations on what happened to Mel and her husband’s role in her sudden hospitalisation got even louder when it was claimed that Belafonte wasn’t by her side while she was recuperating in a hospital.
“Mel is in a terrible state, physically and emotionally. She is very weak and she is being given treatment to help with the pain,” a source told The Sun. “But she is also very upset. She could have died on Thursday and yet one of the only people who has been by her side comforting her is the chauffeur.”
The source added that she was tested for viruses and ulcers, but her husband was nowhere to be found in the hospital.
Belafonte, who has been married to Scary Spice since 2007, denied the speculations that he assaulted his wife. He wrote on Twitter that the reports were untrue.
Idon't usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting un true!

Mel’s estranged mother and sister revealed their worry over Mel’s hospitalisation. They said they were not told about her condition, and no one would tell them which hospital Mel was admitted to. Danielle, the sister, also hit out at Belafonte for allegedly lying to them by saying Mel was fine and not in the hospital.
