'X Factor UK' updates: 4th Impact survives 'flash vote' eliminations, Simon Cowell impressed with group’s 'brilliant' Christina Aguilera cover
After stirring drama and concern when one of their group members collapsed after their previous live performance, 4th Impact is now part of the final six of “X Factor UK.” Simon Cowell, for one, remains a strong fan of the group.
The Filipino girl group 4th Impact was able to make it through Saturday’s “X Factor UK” live show and is now part of the final six, according to The National. Cowell was particularly impressed with the all-girl group’s rendition of Christina Aguilera’s “Ain’t No Other Man” and even called the group’s performance “brilliant.”
Apart from the praises, Cowell mentioned how he wanted them to still improve even if he was enamored by their performance time and again. In particular, the “X Factor UK” judge wanted them to bring their individual personalities to the stage. Cowell stated that the group is yet to be given a song that would really showcase their individualities.
"I really like you, but to go to the next level, we have to know who you are. Apart from that, I thought it was great,” he said.
The other “X Factor UK” judges Nick Grimshaw and Rita Ora gave positive reviews as well. Grimshaw called the performance “meaty” and “well done.” Ora described it as “professional and rehearsed.” Ora was also impressed by the group’s ability to dance and sing so well at the same time. The group’s mentor, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini lauded the group’s professionalism, performing as stars when their own families are halfway around the world.
In “X Factor UK’s” previous live performance week, 4th Impact also impressed with their professionalism and resiliency despite one of the members, Celina Cercado, nearly collapsing on stage after their performance.
Meanwhile, the shocking “Flash Vote” during Saturday’s “X Factor UK” saw the departure of Mason Noise, Mirror reported. The 21-year old R&B singer did not impress viewers with his performance of Nick Jonas’ hit “Jealous” and got the least number of votes. Before his departure from the competition, he thanked the fans who both voted and did not vote for him.
“X Factor UK” airs every Saturday and Sunday in the UK on ITV.
