‘X-Factor USA’ judge, Demi Lovato has requested time off and cancelled her scheduled participation in a scheduled photo shoot for the reality competition show in the wake of her father’s death. The “Heart Attack” hit maker then opens up about her loss and had taken to Twitter to thank everyone for their love and support.

The death of Demi’s biological father, Patrick was confirmed to Us Weekly over the weekend. Her father, whom Demi is known to have been estranged for years succumbed to cancer, says reports.

Among her family members, Demi’s sister and mom were the first to talk about Patrick’s death. Until Demi decided it is time to face her loss. Taking to Twitter, the singer has reached out to her followers, now estimated at over 15 million to thank them for their love.

“I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers, God bless you all, thank you so much love,” Demi tweeted.

The singer decided to put her work aside and spend some time to grieve with her family. A picture of the show’s big personalities including the two female judges, Simon Cowell and its host, Mario Lopez taken Saturday (posted by Lopez) and Demi was noticeably not with her team.

Lopez tweeted with the photo: 'With my @TheXFactorUSA team! Missing @ddlovato today... :('

He also tweeted: “My thoughts & prayers are with you @ddlovato ... God bless you & your family.”

Demi’s fellow judges also wasted no time to make her feel their presence.

There was no word however, from Kelly Rowland on her Twitter account, @KELLYROWLAND as of writing.

More of her friends have also taken to Twitter and poured their support for Demi - - from a Jonas brother to Selena Gomez and more.

Meanwhile, Demi’s last post on Twitter has left more questions as she posted a photo with cryptic message: "God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.."
