‘X-Factor’ USA judge, Demi Lovato has found herself under fire and forced to explain what she said in the latest audition for Fox’s reality competition show.

Demi was impressed with one of the contestants cover of As Long As You Love Me, and the audience felt the Latina singer went a bit too far when she said, "Well, finally someone can sing the song the way it was meant to be sung!"

What Demi thought was an innocent remark was met with a resounding “Oohh” from the audience. Then she realised that she may have said something for them to vehemently react.

Apparently, the audience thought the comment she just made was a “Justin-Bieber” diss. The Made in the USA hit maker then took to Twitter to explain her side.

She reiterated in her tweet that it was not meant to take a jab at Justin, emphasising that there were others who had come to the auditions with his singles and nothing of the same sort had come from her.

Demi tweeted: “Btw - no shade thrown at Justin. So many people audition with his songs.. Finally someone sang it the way it was meant to be sung.. .”

As if her first tweet wasn’t enough, Demi went on to say: “Meaning, finally someone sang it the way JUSTIN sang it.”

Demi’s take on the contestant’s cover made the tabloids, but with strong insinuation that she was hitting at the Canadian singer.

Speaking to Capital FM, it was Demi’s turn to take a jab, still not at Bieber, but at the tabloids, particularly TMZ.

She expressed disgust when the news outlet claiming it “turned things around.”

Demi said, "What they didn't put in the tabloids is that I actually turned around 'cause the audience was like, 'Oooh' and I was like 'Actually, guys, you took me the wrong way.”

She went on to say that she already explained that it wasn’t meant as it sounded to the audience, but the tabloid, she pointed out, knew what to include (not include) in the news.

"I actually explained myself right then and there, but they didn't put that on TMZ," Demi concluded.

Demi has been getting much attention when she returned as judge for Season 3 of X-Factor USA. She had since been described as coming back with diva attitude, acting like she knows more than the new two female judges, Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland. Simon Cowell insisted that all is well with his three angels.
