X-Factor USA judge, Demi Lovato is changing her game for the show’s new season which premieres in September 2013. The Latina singer reveals how hopefuls can convince her. And if you’re really attentive, you don’t have to go out of your way to please hard, since she said it should all be about one’s natural talent.

In a recent interview with MTV, Demi pointed out that she had “raised the bar” this season. By that she explained, talents she believed have great vocal strength will get her thumbs up.

"I've raised my bar, I put a lot of people through last year that had the overall package but didn't have the best voices. And now I've raised the bar where I am not putting anyone through that I don't think has a winning vocal capability,” Demi was quoted as saying by Latinos Post.

The “Made in the USA” hitmaker reiterated that she is highly likely to “say no to a lot of people,” adding that her new game may be misconstrued as “a mean judge.”

She quipped, “… but it’s a very matter of fact, and I’m very very brutally honest.”

The singer-songwriter continued explaining why she decided to go to the road she less travelled in Season 2, last year. Pointing out the importance of being “brutally honest,” adding that his is one of the best ways “not to raise people’s hopes in vain.”

Demi added, that she does not want contestants getting heart broken for passing the audition, only to find out later that they should not have been.

“And there's young girls that are fans and they come through and I don't want them to get to the next round and get their heart broken,” she added.
