X-Factor USA judge, Demi Lovato has paid tribute to the death of her father, posting on Twitter, a touching photo of her as a child, looking happy in the company of her dad, Patrick.

In the picture is a caption that read: "RIP Daddy.. I love you..Love, Your little partner."

The image represented her happy days with her father, who succumbed to cancer when he passed away over the weekend. It allowed Demi’s millions of followers now approximately at 15.5 million, what she was like with her Dad when she was little and before things get awry between them in the years to come.

Demi has always served as good model for his followers - - and even for those who don’t know her work and the things she has been through before she reached the point where she is now.

The age of innocence in Demi as seen in the photo was a far cry of what it was like for her growing up. Demi has had a slew of troubles as a teen: from eating disorder to bullying and substance abuse.

Calling herself a survivor in interview in May 2013, Demi noted that she is not ashamed of what she had gone through when she finally admitted to drug abuse in 2012.

In her recent visit to Chicago in mid-June 2013 for the B96 Pepsi Summer Bash, Demi thanked her fans for all the support when the city saved her in a facility located in Illinois. It was her fans also whom Demi felt humbled to for their love and support they gave her when news of her father’s death made headlines, over the weekend.

She said, “'I feel so humbled to have had so much support from my fans, friends, family and complete strangers, God bless you all, thank you so much love.”

The Latina singer also has her on-and-off boyfriend, Wilmer Valderama, to thank for during her trying times in recent days. Demi has reportedly turned to Valderama to keep her strong following her father’s death.

“[Wilmer] is her rock and he has been in constant contact with her, both by text and in person, during this difficult time and he’ll continue to be her shoulder to cry on,” a source was quoted in multiple reports.

The management of the ‘X-Factor’ USA has apparently given Demi enough time and space to deal with Patrick’s death and they reportedly agreed “to give her all the time she needs to mourn and take care of that sad situation. She can return when she is ready.”

Demi already failed to come to a promotional photoshoot earlier scheduled for ‘X-Factor’ judges, Simon Cowell, Paulina Rubio and Kelly Rowland. A photo of her absence was posted by the show’s host, Mario Lopez who also made his presence felt following death in Demi’s family.
