"Scarlet Witch" (Elizabeth Olsen) from "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" along with characters Cable and Psylocke are said to make an appearance in "X-Men: Apocalypse." Simon Kinberg sat down for an interview with Yahoo UK where he teased some possible new characters in the sequel. "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was initially the topic of the Q & A. However, the discussion soon veered off toward the production details for the 2016 movie.

Psylocke was initially supposed to be featured in "DOFP," according to Kinberg. A script was already written for the character. However, Simon said there wasn't "enough of a part she would play in a movie that was already full of many, many mutants." However, Psylocke may be featured in "X-Men: Apocalypse." The character is reportedly Bryan Singer's favourite, and Kinberg also claimed that "there's certainly a chance she'll be in an 'X-Men' movie someday."

Movieweb claims Marvel Studios, Disney and 20th Century Fox all have privileges to use Scarlet Witch in their movie franchise, so there may be a chance of her joining her brother in the sequel. The character was supposedly referred to in Quicksilver's house scene in "X-Men: Days of Future Past," but like Psylocke, her scene was also cut off. According to Kinberg, it "had to be sacrificed for the main momentum of the film." However, Scarlet Witch may also be featured in the sequel since she is apparently everyone's favourite. Looking into Quicksilver's family history will eventually bring out his sister, so there "maybe" a chance she will be in "Apocalypse."

As for Cable, the interview revealed the character was also supposed to be in "DOFP." However, Simon Kinberg didn't specifically confirm nor deny if Cable will be in "X-Men: Apocalypse." "I will say, we love the character, we'd love to find a place for him in these movies, but I cannot confirm or deny which characters will actually be in 'X-Men: Apocalypse' until I read some spoilers!" he said.

Unfortunately, some other fan favourites won't make it to the sequel. Since "Apocalypse" follows the "First Class," Ellen Page won't be reprising her role as Kitty Pryde. "X-Men: Apocalypse" opens in U.S. theatres on May 27, 2016.
