‘X-Men: Apocalypse’: Oscar Isaac Dishes On Superpowers Of Supervillain
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is going to feature one of the darkest villains of the X-Men universe. The supervillain of the movie reportedly possesses a great power set, which he will be putting on display while dealing with the X-Men. In his recent interview, actor Oscar Isaac, who plays the subtitular villain, has hinted about the character's costume and superpowers.
Speaking to Comingsoon.net during the promotion of his latest movie “A Most Violent Year,” Oscar Isaac talked about his “X-Men: Apocalypse” character En Sabah Nur. The actor revealed that his character, who is said to be an ancient mutant, will display a major power set. Isaac was asked whether the moviemakers will be using performance capture to transform him into the enormous supervillain Apocalypse. The actor did not reveal much; however, he hinted about one of his major superpowers.
“(The costume) hasn’t been figured out yet, but one of his major powers is being able to change all the molecules in his body. So I’ll be changing all the molecules in my body… It’s gonna be a lot of fun,” the actor revealed.
According to Cinema Blend, Apocalypse can modify size, density and flexibility of things as well as “transform parts of his body into weapons and adapt to absolutely any environment.” This is reportedly why Apocalypse is considered one of the most powerful and dangerous enemies of the X-Men. Furthermore, he is said to be an immortal mutant who was borne 5000 years ago in Akkaba, Egypt.
Fans got their first glimpse of the En Sabah Nur aka Apocalypse in the post-credits scene of “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” The scene showed ancient Egypt where a dark figure in a hooded cape was seen addressing a large crowd. The men and women gathered were chanting “En Sabah Nur.” At the same time, the young boy standing on the sandy hills addressing the crowd assembled the pyramids using telekinesis powers.
“X-Men: Apocalypse” is expected to focus on the origin of the mutants, set in the year 1983. The movie will bring back James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Evan Peters’ characters back on the big screen. The movie will begin filming in April 2015 and will be released on May 27, 2016.
