'X-Men: Apocalypse': Quicksilver hasn't gone to the dark side yet, says Evan Peters
Cast member Evan Peters talked about his character Quicksilver in “X-Men: Apocalypse” in a recent interview. The actor teased that his character will be joining the superheroes in the forthcoming movie to fight against the forces of evil.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Peters revealed that his character is still in the early stages of joining the superhero group in the forthcoming movie. The actor described the situation as “pretty sweet” and said that his character was still a good man, who hasn’t gone over to the “dark side” yet.
While he is fighting alongside the superheroes, he still has a soft corner for Magneto (Michael Fassbender). “I think he understands why Eric is the way that he is and does these things. I think he has a lot of sympathy for him and empathy and knows what he’s going through and is trying to help him really,” he said.
Magneto will be one of the Four Horsemen working for the villain in “X-Men: Apocalypse.” Unlike Eric, Quicksilver feels that there is a way to achieve the same goal without killing people. The actor revealed that Eric has a lot of anger inside him and this is something that Quicksilver understands.
Peters also teased that while his character may have joined the heroes in the fight against evil, “something horrible” may happen and this may change the perspective of Quicksilver.
In another interview with Screen Rant, Peters teased how the director Bryan Singer was attempting to top the first movie. The actor praised the special effects team and joked that he was “just a minion” on the set, doing what he was being told.
Peters was talking about a specific sequence that was being filmed for “X-Men: Apocalypse” in the interview. “I’m very excited to see it myself. I’m excited for everybody to see it because we’ve been working hard on it,” he said.
