The new trailer of "X-Men: Days of Future Past" has been released with viewers getting a glimpse of the long list of mutants in the movie both young and old. Viewers also got a glimpse of the Sentinel robots.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" brings together the cast of the "X-Men: First Class" and the cast from the previous movies, most notable among them is Professor Charles Xavier, Magneto and Wolverine.

The plot of the movie revolves around Wolverine going back in time in order to stop the possible mutant extinction. They face a powerful new enemy in the form of mutant hunting robots called Sentinels, developed by scientist Bolivar Trask.

The movie is one of the most highly anticipated of the year and expectations are high, especially from Peter Dinklage who plays the role of Bolivar Trask. Viewers will also be introduced to some new mutant characters in the movie.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" perhaps has the highest number of mutants cast in one movie so far. Some of the new characters in the movie include Bishop, played by Omar Sy, Warpath, played by Booboo Stewart, Blink, played by Bingbing Fan, Sunspot, played by Adan Canto, Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters and Shadowcat, played by Ellen Page.

Popular characters returning includes Mystique, played by Jennifer Lawrence, Beast, played by Nicholas Hoult, Storm, played by Halle Berry, Iceman, played by Shawn Ashmore and Toad, played by Evan Jonigkeit. Viewers got a glimpse of the mutants doing battle against the Sentinel robots set in the future. Will Wolverine be able to save his fellow mutants from extinction?

The odds may be against him this time as it is not just a question of him fighting his way to victory. He will need to convince the young Professor Charles to rally behind the cause and become the man he was meant to be.

The young Professor Charles seems to suffering from depression and is not himself in the movie. The character has generally been seen as calm, composed, confident and wise. It may be a challenge for Wolverine to bring these qualities out from the younger Charles.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" is set to be released on May 23, 2014. The new trailer has the fans buzzing with excitement for the upcoming movie. The long list of mutants in the movie along with the promise of action is expected to be a crowd puller at the theaters.
