The latest horror story within that genre is that X-rays revealed a DHL box labelled as toys actually contained chopped body parts of an infant such as the head, foot and heart. The staff of the global courier company discovered on Saturday the grisly contents as they prepared to ship the box from Bangkok to three Nevada addresses, The Age reports.
The container, which also had an adult skin with a large tiger tattoo, was filled with formaldehyde and separated into three acrylic boxes. However, being immersed for too long in formaldehyde would make identification via DNA testing more difficult, said a coroner who confirmed on Sunday that the body parts are human.
According to a 31-year-old American man who was arrested by Bangkok police, he sent the chopped body parts to people in Nevada to scare them only. The man was released after he was questioned by the police for four hours because Thai authorities were not sure what laws would apply to the man, said Col Adisorn Sensawat, the police chief of Bang Pongpang.

Reports from Bangkok media said the man picked the body parts in the capital city of Thailand, but he did not know the exact location and asked the tuk-tuk driver to bring him to the address which was a night flea market, according to CNN. DHL said it was the consignee who paid cash for the parcel shipment to the US.
AFP reports that the police sent the contents of the DHL parcel to the lab for forensic examination to test if the infant died while inside the womb or after birth.
Two years ago, in 2012, Thai police found six fetuses inside the luggage of a Briton who is of Taiwanese descent. The burnt fetuses were covered in gold leaf for use in a black magic ceremony out of belief among some Chinese communities that fetuses deliver good fortune by keeping them in shrines at home or businesses. The fetuses were about to be sent to Taiwan when it was intercepted.
