Sony finally unveils its own VR headset at the GDC, which is said to rival the Oculus Rift and one that will enhance gaming experience with the PS4.

Now, it seems that Microsoft is not looking to back down from that part of the console wars, as rumours now state that there may be a series of VR devices coming out from Microsoft's end.

Metro reports that Microsoft may be going beyond the AR glasses for the Xbox One, the former of which is supposed to function closer to the Google Glass. Apparently, a source claims that the VR device from Microsoft is being developed with Fortaleza and may even involve augmented reality.

But compared to Sony, whose VR headset, dubbed Project Morpheus, has already been underway 3 years ago, it seems that Microsoft may either be dabbling with the idea of virtual reality or finding its footing in the territory.

Xbox One Expands Its Reach

With the latest sales numbers already out and the Xbox One starting to close the gap with the PS4, Microsoft may be taking advantage of the "Titanfall" wave and extending its next-gen console to other markets.

Major Nelson has announced in his blog that come September, there will be additional areas where the Xbox One will finally launch. These include Argentina, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, India, Israel, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and the UAE.

There is also an expected announcement of some local-level news coming by the end of April, though Major Nelson has not yet given any particulars about this.

The announcement of the Xbox One expanding to other markets comes as a prelude to the 25 announced games from the ID@Xbox over at the GDC.

"Since we first announced the program in August, we've been working closely with developers to bring a diverse array of independent games to Xbox One," said Chris Charla, ID@Xbox games director over at the Xbox News Wire. "Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible so developers can focus on what matters most: creating the games you're beginning to see today!"

The full list of 25 games is available at the link above, but it seems that Microsoft is going for a mix of games. There are side-scrollers, racing games, medieval-themed tower defense brawlers, puzzle games, Kinect-based games, space-themed games, shooter games and more.
